Buckhorn Ridge OHV Area - Bear Canyon Loop For Dirt Biking

The 38th most popular offroad motorcycle trail in California.

East of Santa Maria in the Santa Lucia Ranger District, the Bear Canyon Loop is a 6.5 mile route. This steep narrow trail leaves the Buckhorn Ridge route and drops down into Bear Camp where it connects to the Bear Canyon trail, connecting back to Buckhorn Ridge route. This trail is for the most advanced motorcycle riders.

To reach the trailhead for the Buckhorn Ridge OHV Area - Bear Canyon Loop from Santa Maria, go east on SR 166 for 16.5 miles. Turn right and stay right at the branch. It will be about 1.5 miles to the start of Buckhorn Ridge Trail. Go 3.25 miles on the Buckhorn Ridge Trail. The Bear Canyon Loop will branch off to the right.
