To reach the trailhead for the Buckhorn Ridge OHV Area - Bear Canyon Loop from Santa Maria, go east on SR 166 for 16.5 miles. Turn right and stay right at the branch. It will be about 1.5 miles to the start of Buckhorn Ridge Trail. Go 3.25 miles on the Buckhorn Ridge Trail. The Bear Canyon Loop will branch off to the right.
