South of Newberry in Luce County, the Sandtown Trail is a 36 mile loop open to offroad motorcycling.

To reach the Sandtown Trail trailhead from Newberry, head south on SR 123 for 3.25 miles to a right (west) on SR 28. Travel 3 miles on SR 28 to a left (south) on SR 117. Go 4.5 miles to a right (west) on CR 447 (Old Curtis Rd | Line Rd.) Travel 1.8 miles to a left (south) on Hayes Rd. Go about 1.5 miles to a parking area on the left.

Overall, Sandtown Trail is the 9th most popular dirt bike trail of all 63 dirt biking rides in Michigan. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Sandtown Trail including Silver Creek Trail, Newberry-Rexton Motorcycle Trail, Pine Ridge Trail, Danaher Plains Trail and Two Heart Trail.
