Thomaston Dam For Dirt Biking

West of Hartford and northeast of Thomaston, the Thomaston Dam area has 800 acres open to off-road motorcycle trails riding on the west side of the Naugatuck River. These very popular trails are maintained by the Pathfinders Motorcycle Club. The trails are very crowded on the weekends, so you may want to plan for a weekday.
Thomaston Dam is located in Thomaston, Connecticut, easily accessible from Route 8. Take Route 8 North to exit 39, take a left on East Main Street, at the traffic light take a right onto North Main, 2 miles north, take a right onto Route 222. The Dam is 1/2 mile ahead on your left.
From Route 8 South Take exit 40, take a left onto North Main Street, 1/2 mile take a right onto Route 222. The Dam is 1/2 mile ahead on your left.
Note: The Thomaston Dam OHV trails are subject to seasonal closures and dam release closures. It is important to call before you drive.
