Sam Houston National Forest - West Side For Dirt Biking

North of Houston and just northeast of Conroe, the Sam Houston National Forest has 67 miles of dirt bike trails. The route traverses loamy sand and mud, along with numerous creek crossings.

There are three distinct dirt bike trail systems marked by red arrows: East Side, West Side and Northwest.

To reach the East Side trailhead from Houston, head north on US45 for 60 miles to Exit #102. Turn left onto FS1375. Continue on FS1375 for 5 miles to the ranger station, or another couple miles beyond to the trailhead (just turn right at the Gulf Coast Trade Center and follow the signs).

Note: Trails are usually closed after rainfall. Call ahead. Trail maps are available at the Raven Ranger Station.

Overall, Sam Houston National Forest - West Side is the 16th most popular dirt bike trail of all 44 dirt biking rides in Texas.
