Northeast of Boise and Idaho City in the Boise National Forest, the Trail Creek Trail #064 is a 9 mile route that starts from the Yuba River and follows Trail Creek to the headwaters. This narrow lightly used route passes through Douglas-fir and lodgepole pine (there may be downed trees, too).
To reach the trailhead from the intersection of Quarts St. and Middle Fork Rd. in Atlanta, go west on Middle Fork Rd. for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto FR 289 and go about 2.5 miles up FR 289 to FR 207 (at the confluence of the Yuba River and Decker Creek.) The trail begins here. Look for trail registration boxes and signs. FRs 207/289 are not recommended for passenger cars. Most people riding motorcycles unload and ride from Atlanta or at the junction of Rds 268/289 (junction of Middle Fork Rd. and 289.)
Overall, Trail Creek Trail is the 14th most popular dirt bike trail of all 53 dirt biking rides in Idaho. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Trail Creek Trail including Bull Creek Trail, Danskin Mountains OHV Area, East Mountain Way, Kirkham Ridge Trail, Wilson Flat ATV Trail System, Idaho Cenntenial Trail, Hemingway Butte OHV Trailhead, .
