Northeast of Sante Fe and Taos, the Red River area has numerous trails and roads open to dirt bike riding. The trailhead is located just north of the town of Red River up FS54.

Cerro Negro – travel 2 miles on road to Lawrence Ranch to Forest Road 7B. 5-mile loop that connects with 7C.

Overall, Cerro Negro is the 11th most popular dirt bike trail of all 15 dirt biking rides in New Mexico. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Cerro Negro including Elephant Rock, 4th Of July Canyon, Garrapate Ridge, Goose Lake, Largo Lake and Middle Fork.
