West of Yampa, the Ute Trail #1110 is a 6.3 mile route to Heart Lake. This route is shared by hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, dirt bikers and ATVs (up to 44 inches wide).
To reach the trailhead from Yampa, head west on CR7 for 6.4 miles. Continue on FS900 for 3.6 miles to the trailhead.
The route follows a steep, rocky ascent through aspen forest to Heart Lake. Near the top, the forest changes to spruce and fir.

Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, if they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. Overall, Ute Trail is the 80th most popular dirt bike trail of all 93 dirt biking rides in Colorado.
