Shade Mountain Trail System For Dirt Biking

The 7th most popular offroad motorcycle trail in Pennsylvania.

North of Harrisburg and west of Lewisburg in Bald Eagle State Forest, the Shade Mountain Trail System is designated for non-licensed, off-highway dirt bikes. The legal dirt biking trails are marked with yellow blazes. These are difficult, rocky trails with tight off-camber slopes.

The dirt biking trailhead for the Shade Mountain Trail System is located 50 miles north of Harrisburg. To reach the trailhead, follow US322 north to the Thompsontown Exit. Turn right on SR333 to SR235. Continue north on SR235 to McAlisterville. Continue on SR235 to the parking lot at the top of the mountain.

Overall, Shade Mountain Trail System is the 7th most popular dirt bike trail of all 32 dirt biking rides in Pennsylvania.
