Byron Motorsports ORV Park For Dirt Biking

The 12th most popular offroad motorcycle trail in Illinois.

South of Rockford and Byron, the Byron Motorsports Park is open to dirt bike riding. There are two tracks onsite: the original Legacy track and the new Hilltop track. The Legacy track is our original MX course which started humbly in 1969. It is a natural terrain track with wood chips and man-made obstacles. The Hilltop track is a new addition. Built in 2004 it was created to cater to ATV and beginner racers. The Hilltop track is a moto-staduim layout with a harder surface and more man made obstacles. As we all know prime conditions for a motorcycle are not very good for ATVs and vice versa. By giving the two styles their own course we have improved conditions for everyone.

Directions from the North and East, find I-90 South to Bypass 20 in Rockford (you can only go one way). Exit Bypass 20 to Hwy 2 South. Hwy 2 into Byron. Turn Left at first lights (Union St.) Follow Union over the Rock River and to a 4-way stop. At 4-way continue traveling straight, up the hill and away from the river. There will be a golf course on your right (no you cant ride there!) Beginning at the 4-way the road name changes to German Church. 3miles on German Church you will see a Motosports Park sign. You have arrived! If you pass the Nuclear Plant you have gone too far.

Overall, Byron Motorsports ORV Park is the 12th most popular dirt bike trail of all 25 dirt biking rides in Illinois.
