Southwest of Gary near Valparaiso, the Crossings MX has three motocross tracks. The Pee Wee track offers moderate elevation changes and several jumps. The terrain is less intimidating as the focus here is on the riders need to master his/her bike not the course. The Intermediate area has five acres specifically constructed for motor cross enthusiasts who prefer longer straight-aways and fewer jumps. Here you can gain confidence in your machine and its abilities, and improve your riding techniques. The Advanced 1 1/3-mile long track is built on twenty acres of clay, sand, and black loam. Designed to improve stamina and challenge the riders ability to maneuver in and out of turns, it is constructed on a landscape of extreme elevation changes (not evident in the image above). Lap times for experienced riders are approximately 1 min. 45 sec., making CrossingsMX a favorite practice facility for professionals preparing for major racing events.
To reach the dirt biking at the Crossings MX from the west, follow US94 East. Turn onto Ripley St. South - continue approximately 10 mi. to Crazy Ds gas station (becomes 250 West). Continue south - across 3 sets of railroad tracks. Its the first farmhouse on your right (look for a large tree house).
