Southeast of Mt Vernon, the Walker Valley ORV Area is a lowland riding area popular with dirt bike riders. The elevations range from 500 to 3,000 feet. The Walker Valley areas is a fully authorized and managed ORV area with 36 miles of trails. Located off Highway 9 near Lake Cavanaugh, it is open year-round.

To reach the dirt biking trailhead for the Walker Valley ORV Area from US5, use Exit #538 for College Way. Continue east through Mount Vernon. A few miles out of town, you will come to a "Y" in the road (Big Rock Grocery), head south on Highway 9 towards "Big Lake".

Continue until you see "Walker Valley Rd", and a small sign for Walker Valley ORV on your left about mid point on Big Lake, theres a sign for Walker Valley on the right. Follow this gravel road to trail head.

Overall, Walker Valley ORV Area is the 3rd most popular dirt bike trail of all 36 dirt biking rides in Washington.
