Near Tomalla in the Barrington Tops National Park, the Barrington Trail is a 15km route that provides 4WD access to Little Murray Camping Area (5km), Mount Barrington (15km) and a walk-in campsite at Junction Pools on a 4WD branch trail. The trail leaves the Barrington Tops Forest Road about 1.7km east of Polblue Swamp. There is a carpark, information shelter and gate a short distance off the main road.
All access roads to the park are unpaved for at least part of their length, although the vast majority are accessible to 2WD vehicles. However, some trails in the north of the park are 4WD-only access, including the Barrington Trail.
The trail is located in the northern section of the park and is 4wd and dirt bike accessible only. Please remember to always stay on motorized specific trails and minimise your environmental impact when you drive in the park.
To reach the Barrington Trail from Scone, take Barrington Tops Forest Road. The Barrington Tops precinct can be reached by turning left into the Barrington Trail from Barrington Tops Forest Road.
Overall, Barrington Trail is the 9th most popular dirt bike trail of all 81 dirt biking rides in Australia.
