Red Feather Lakes ORV Dirt Biking

Northwest of Fort Collins and Red Feather Lakes, there is a network of Forest Service roads open to dirt biking.

The best trailhead is just to the west of Red Feather Lakes. Follow Deadman Road (CR162) for about 3.5 miles up the switchbacks and look for the trailhead on the left side of the road for the popular Killpecker route.

Some of these the trails shown on this map overlap with the trails shown on the Green Ridge map.

Note: Colorado residents must register their off-highway vehicle with the Colorado State Parks (303) 866-3437. Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, if they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. These requirements are subject to change so make sure to contact the Colorado State Parks prior to using your off-highway vehicle.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is only permited on roads marked as open to ATV. All ATVs must be registered.
