Burlington Ridge Trail Complex For Dirt Biking

The 105th most popular offroad motorcycle trail in California.

East of Nevada City in the Tahoe National Forest, the Burlington Ridge Trail Complex is open to offroad motorcycle riding. The trail has several loop options and each are blazed with colored markers (some blazes may be missing). These trails are shared with horseback riders so use care. Motorcycle users favor Chalk Bluff Road Trailhead on the eastern end of the complex, and equestrians tend to prefer the Washington Overlook Trailhead on the western end of the complex.

To reach the Chalk Bluff Staging Area from Nevada City, head east on SR20 for 12 miles.

The Chalk Bluff Staging Area was constructed by the Nevada County Woods Riders Motorcycle Club.

Here are the loop options:

Hallelujah (red): 2.3 miles, difficult

Towle Mill Loop (blue): 9.4 miles, moderate

Omega (orange): 4.4 miles, difficult

Stanton (purple): 2.2 miles, moderate

Big Tunnel (black): 0.7 miles, difficult.

Overall, Burlington Ridge Trail Complex is the 105th most popular dirt bike trail of all 120 dirt biking rides in California.
