West of Alexandria near Pineville in the Kisatchie National Forest, the Camp Claiborne ATV Area has 90 miles of trails for off-road motorcycle. The trails are through pine upland forest and through the abandoned WWII military base, Camp Claiborne. The trail system consists of three 30 mile loops.
Northwest of New Orleans, the 7,700 acre Bonnet Carre Spillway area has plenty of sandy and muddy areas for dirt biking. There are two designated riding areas.
South of Monroe and east of Riverton in the Boeuf Wildlife Management Area, the 19 mile Merango Swamp Trail is a muddy, challenging route open to off-road motorcycle trails riding. Keep in mind that this is a swamp - watch out for alligators and snakes.
North of Pineville in the Kisatchie National Forest, the Camp Livingston Trail Complex is open to off-road motorcycle trails riding. There are two main trails. The Little Creek Trail is a 22.6 mile route. The Hickman Trail is a 12.5 mile route.
Southwest of Natchitoches in the Kisatchie National Forest, the 38 mile Sandstone Multi-Use Trail is open to off-road motorcycle trails riding. The trail winds through the piney woods of the Kisatchie Hills with nice views and rolling terrain.
Northeast of Alexandria near Sicily Island, the Catahoula Recreation area has 320 acres open to dirt bike riding. There are tall sand and dirt hills, along with mud pits. The riding area is open on the weekends.
