North of Columbia, the 1100 acre Finger Lakes State Park has more than 70 miles of dirt biking trails that wind into deep ravines and over steep hills on this former coal strip-mining operation. The trails run through dense forest with numerous muddy ruts. This is a semi-open riding area with a free-form trail system.
Southeast of Springfield and northwest of Centerville in the Mark Twain National Forest, the Sutton Bluff Motorcycle Trail System is a 25 mile network of dirt biking trails. This trail system is also heavily used by ATV riders, so use caution. There are deep ruts on either side of the track, and therefore the trail centerline is difficult to ride and traverse due to rocks. There are 20 orange-blazed routes follow ridgelines or hollow bottoms through oak and pine forest.
West of Farmington in Park Hills, the St Joe State Park has 2,000 acre set aside for off-road motorcycle trails riding. The wooded trails wind through forest and through sand flats. There are about 800 acres of sand-flats, a sand-like substance of crushed limestone, which is a lead-mining remnant.
Southeast of Kansas City near Deepwater, the Copper Creek ORV Area covers approximately 400 acres of hills, trails, and open areas and is divided into a north and a south riding area. The north riding area is 90 acres in size. The south area has a parking area and restroom and is much larger with over 300 acres containing more intricate trails.
Near Canton in northeast Missouri, the Smurfwood Trails consists of 15 miles of trails over 660 acres open to dirt bike riding. The trails roll through meadows and forest, and across 9 bridges.
Northwest of St Louis in Foley, the 100-acre Letz Go Nutz Off-Road Park is open to dirt biking. The park is open on Saturdays and Sundays.
Southeast of Kansas City near Kingsville, the Challenge Trax has motocross tracks spread across 40 acres. There is a supercross track, a one mile motorcross track and a separate OHV riding area.
Near Merwin, the Midwest Extreme Park has motocross tracks spread across 250 acres. There is a 9 mile hare-scramble loop along with a 1.25 mile motocross track.
Southeast of Springfield near Elkhead, the Soggy Bottom MX Park has over 50 miles of dirt bike trails. The trail system is spread across 1,100 acres of forest.
