West of Knoxville and northeast of Oliver Springs, the Windrock Mountain has 250 miles of off-road motorcycle trails over 73,000 acres. Also known as Coal Creek OHV, the 62 trails are on property owned by the Coal Creek Mining Company and are maintained by Windrock ATV club. There are plenty of rocks, creek crossings and mud.
Near Mooresville, the Woolys Offroad Area is open to dirt bike riding. Current trails consist of easy to difficult trails that include obstacles such as rock bluffs, washed out trenches, hills, mud, loose rocks and open hills. The trails are spread out on 500+ acres.
Northwest of Knoxville, the I-81 Motorsports Park has a short motocross track and miles of trails over 400 acres. This park features a Motocross Track, 8-Mile Hare Scrambles Course, 1/4 Mile Short Track and 3/8 Mile Dirt Track and miles of trails spread over 400 acres.
