Close to popular Cape Region gateway city of La Paz in the Sierra De Juarez National Park, Sierra De La Laguana Natural Park has over 20 miles of hiking trails leading up to Mount Pincacho de la Laguana. East of Todos Santos, the Rancho Burrera (San Juan del Aserradero) to Picacho de la Laguna is one of Bajas most popular routes. This challenging trek is one of the few actually shown on topo maps and passes over Picacho at 7,000. The route loosely runs from Todos Santos on the Pacific to Los Barriles on the Sea of Cortez.

Note: Prior to 1997, the topographic maps developed by the federal government used the NAD27 CONUS datum. Starting in 1998, the government transitioned to the ITRF92 datum (some maps show both datum), which is pretty much identical to the WGS84 datum.

Overall, Rancho De La Picacho is the 8th most popular hiking trail of all 11 hikes in Mexico.
