Northwest of Tallahassee and Bristol, the Torreya State Park is on high bluffs overlooking the Apalachicola River and has lush biodiversity. There is a great 15 mile trail for exploring the park that starts from the Gregory House that traverses steep bluffs and ravines while encircling the park. There are three reservable primative backpacking campsites: Rock Bluff (1 hr.), Rock Creek (3 hrs.) and Torreya Challenge (6 hrs.).

To reach the hiking trailhead, follow US10 to exit 25. Head southwest on SR12 for 19 miles. Turn right on SR1641 heading west into the park

Overall, Gregory House Loop is the 9th most popular hiking trail of all 43 hikes in Florida. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Gregory House Loop including Munson Hills Loop, Tom Brown Park Trail, Florida National Scenic Trail, Florida National Scenic Trail, Fort Braden Trails and High Bluff Coastal Hiking Trail.
