Above the north side of the valley, a gentle undulating trail runs from First station on the Firsthorn gondola up to Bachalpsee lake for unparalleled alpine vistas across the valley to the Eiger and Jungfrau and of the peaks above the lake. There are two great hiking routes down – either the ridgeline trail to Borg or the Pack Trail to Bussalp. All trails are well-worn and signed.

Overall, Alpenrose Trail is the 3rd most popular hiking trail of all 15 hikes in Switzerland. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Alpenrose Trail including Grindelwald, Eiger Trail, Marmot Valley Trail and Interlaken.
