East of Manchester near Nottingham, the 5,600 acre Pawtuckaway State Park has 25 miles of trails open to biking, hiking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing. A moderately technical 12 mile loop with steep climbs on both single and double track combines the Fundy Trail, Shaw Trail, North Mountain Trail and Round Pond Trail. Dont miss hiking the Mountain Trail (3 miles one-way) to the top of South Mountain.

To reach the trailhead from Manchester, head east on SR101 to Exit #5. Head north on SR107 (Freetown Road) for 0.25 miles. Turn left heading west on SR107 briefly. Turn right heading north on SR156 (Nottingham Road) to Mountain Road. Turn left heading west on Mountain Road to the parking area on the right just prior to the toll booth.

Overall, Pawtuckaway State Park is the 6th most popular hiking trail of all 17 hikes in New Hampshire.
