Hiking The Dawn Mountain Trail

West of Golden in the Dogtooth range of the infamous Purcells near Kicking Horse ski area, the Dawn Mountain Trail is a 25km network consisting of four loops from 2.5 to 7km long.
To reach hiking trailhead from Golden BC on the TransCanada Highway, follow signage for Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, 12.5 km west of Golden on Kicking Horse Trail. Trailhead sign at the upper parking lot beyond the daylodge
Overall, Dawn Mountain Trail is the 5th most popular hiking trail of all 18 hikes in British Columbia. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Dawn Mountain Trail including Quartz Lake Trail, Valenciennes Canyon, Mummy Glacier, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Yoho National Park and Mt. MacPherson.
