Near Helmsey, there are many Yorkshire bridleways to explore by hiking through wild open hills and scenic dales along with plenty of drystone walls.
To reach Helmsley, follow the A1 to A168. In Thirsk, turn onto the A170 towards Scarborough.
Overall, North York Moors National Park is the 12th most popular hiking trail of all 16 hikes in UK.
