Near State College, the 5 mile Mount Nittany ascent is a popular local hike which offers nice views of Happy Valley. Its an easy 650 feet vertical climb. To reach the trailhead from State College, follow SR26 to Lemont. Take Mount Nittany Road to the very end where there is trailhead parking.

Overall, Mount Nittany is the 16th most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Pennsylvania.
