Hiking The Baker Lake / Johnson Lake Loop

The 6th most popular hiking trail in Nevada.

Southeast of Ely and southwest of Baker in the rugged snake range, the Baker Lake / Johnson Lake Loop is a 13 mile hiking trek through gnarled bristle cone pinestands past high peaks and caverns. Theres a nice side trip up Baker Peak.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Baker off SR487, head west on SR488 for 5 miles. Turn left heading south on FS590 to the end.

Overall, Baker Lake / Johnson Lake Loop is the 6th most popular hiking trail of all 20 hikes in Nevada.
