Located 8 miles west of Meadville in the Homochito National Forest, the Clear Springs Lake Trail is 10 miles of wooded hiking trail, with many short, very steep hills and screaming downhills past cypresses and flowering hickories. A good mix of fast/slow/easy, and technical. Locals say the hot ticket is to ride the trail clockwise. Take US Highway 84/98 east of Natchez past Roxie. Look for Clear Springs Recreation Area directional signs. The hiking trailhead is located just outside the main gate.
What? The 7 mile CST hasn’t tired you yet? Theres a new 6.5 mile spur off the main trail within 0.25 miles of the trailhead. Its much more rolling but not quite as technical.
Overall, Clear Springs Lake Trail is the 6th most popular hiking trail of all 10 hikes in Mississippi.
