North of Kalamazoo and west of Hastings, the 5,200 acre Yankee Springs Recreation Area has numerous trails for hiking.

To reach the trailhead from Kalamazoo, follow US131 north for 45 miles to Exit 61 near Bradley. Head east on 129th Ave. (aka Chief Noonday Road and SR179) for 8 miles. At Yankee Springs Road, turn right heading south to parking area.

Overall, Yankee Springs Recreation Area is the 16th most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Michigan.
