Hiking The Lake Bistineau State Park

The 3rd most popular hiking trail in Louisiana.

Southeast of Shreveport near Bossier City, the Lake Bistineau State Park has a new 8 mile Adventure Trail. This narrow hiking trail winds through the dense forests and along the bayous of this scenic area. The trail is hardpacked dirt and pine needles.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Shreveport, head west on US20 to Exit 33. Proceed south on US157. Turn left heading east on CR3327/SR164. Turn right heading south on SR163 for about 7 miles to the main State Park entrance.

After your ride, don’t forget to stop at Crawfish Hole #2 in Miden for some craydaddys and catfish, or for a finer dining, try Wilsons Bistineau Inn (318) 987-2228.

Overall, Lake Bistineau State Park is the 3rd most popular hiking trail of all 6 hikes in Louisiana.
