In the western section of the 800,000 acre Big Bend National Park, the remote hike on the 10 mile Mesa de Anguila Trail is lined with cholla cactus and prickly pear cactus.

Overall, Mesa de Anguila Trail is the 11th most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Texas. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Mesa de Anguila Trail including Outer Mountain Loop, Laguna Meadow - Pinnacles Trails, South Rim and Big Bend Ranch State Park.
