Hiking The Arrigetech Peak

The 18th most popular hiking trail in Alaska.

Far north of Fairbanks off the Dalton Highway (SR11) near Coldfoot, the 8.5 million acre Gates Of The Arctic National Park is a roadless-trailless expanse of Alaskan wilderness. With no marked trails, orientation skills are a must -- be ready for Arctic river crossings, too! Still game? This is also grizzly country and the misquitos are fierce. Roads are treacherous so bring TWO spares.

For an adventure, fly from Bettles to Circle Lake in the southwest sector. Then hike Arrigetech Peaks at 7,000 feet to view the granite spires.

Overall, Arrigetech Peak is the 18th most popular hiking trail of all 54 hikes in Alaska.
