East of El Paso, the Franklin Mountains State Park has 51 miles of trails. This is the longest mountain range in the state with a ridge about 7,000. Note: no water or fires.

To reach the hiking trailhead from El Paso, head west on US10 to the Canutillo exit. Head east on SR375 for 3.8 miles to the trailhead.

Overall, Franklin Mountains State Park is the 23rd most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Texas. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Franklin Mountains State Park including Guadalupe Peak Trail and Davis Mountains State Park.
