Hiking The Lower Loop Trail System

The 23rd most popular hiking trail in Colorado.

Starting from the northwest side of Crested Butte, the Lower Loop Trail is one of the easier hiking routes around town.

To reach the main trailhead parking area from SR135, head west on Elk Avenue to First Street. Turn right heading north on First Street for 4 blocks to Butte Avenue. Turn left heading west on Butte Avenue. Butte Avenue eventually turns to the dirt and becomes Peanut Lake Road. The parking area is just ahead on the left.

Overall, Lower Loop Trail System is the 23rd most popular hiking trail of all 72 hikes in Colorado.
