Near Black River Falls in Jackson County, the 67,000 acre Black River State Forest has 34 miles of hiking trails through pine and oak forests.
The Forest lies on the edge of the glaciated central plain east of the rough coulee region or driftless area of Wisconsin.
Overall, Black River State Forest is the 11th most popular hiking trail of all 18 hikes in Wisconsin.
