Hiking The North Country Trail - Freesoil To Bowman Lake

West of Baldwin in the Huron-Manistee National Forest, a 27.4 mile stretch of the North Country Trail runs from the Freesoil Trailhead to Bowman Lake.

To reach the Bowman Lake Trailhead from Baldwin, head west on 52 Street. The road winds southwest and becomes 56th Street. The hiking trailhead is located across the Marquette River.

Overall, North Country Trail - Freesoil To Bowman Lake is the 15th most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Michigan.
