North of Bedford near Claysburg, the 5,600 acre Blue Knob State Park has miles of rolling hiking trails to explore.

Check out the 26 mile Lost Turkey Trail used for backpacking which leads into adjacent Game Land #28. It begins at the Blue Knob Fire Tower and ends at the Babcock State Forest Ranger Station on SR56. It follows an old railgrade.

To reach the state park from the PA Turnpike, use Exit 11 in Bedford. Go north on I-99 to Route 869 west (at Osterburg). Follow Route 869 to Pavia, then follow signs through Pavia to park.

Overall, Lost Turkey Trail is the 23rd most popular hiking trail of all 32 hikes in Pennsylvania.
