Northeast of North Adams and west of Monroe Bridge in the Berkshires, the 4,300 acre Monroe State Forest hasmiles of trails open to mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding through deep valleys and over forested mountains.

To reach the trailhead, follow SR2 to Florida. Turn onto Tilda Hill Road and follow the signs.

Overall, Monroe State Forest is the 25th most popular hiking trail of all 36 hikes in Massachusetts. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Monroe State Forest including October State Forest, Beartown State Forest and Chester-Blandford State Forest.
