The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a 27 mile hiking route from SR134 in Dennis to Le Count Hollow Road in Wellfleet. The hiking route passes by salt marshes, cranberry bogs and ponds. It connects with multi-purpose paths into Nickerson State Park and Cape Cod National Seashore (via Nauset Bike Path).

There are two nice side trips: the spur trail to the Chatham town line, and the trip east on Le Count Hollow Road to Cahoon Hollow Beach for lunch at the Beach Comber Restaurant on the water.

Overall, Cape Cod Trail is the 21st most popular hiking trail of all 36 hikes in Massachusetts. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Cape Cod Trail including Great Island Trail, Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, West Barnstable Conservation Area and Nickerson State Park.
