North of Eastham and southwest of Wellfleet, the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary has a trail system totaling 5 miles through pine forest and salt marshes. The three larger loops worth trying are the Try Island Trail, Bay View Trail and the Goose Pond Trail.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Orleans, head north on US6 through Eastham passing Nauset Road. About 1 mile past Nauset Road, turn left heading west into the signed Audobon parking area.

Overall, Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is the 26th most popular hiking trail of all 36 hikes in Massachusetts.
