Hiking The Wheeler Peak Trail

Southeast of Ely and west of Baker in the rugged snake range, the Wheeler Peak Summit Trail is a 8.2 mile round trip trek to the 13,000 feet summit with spectacular vistas.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Baker off SR487, head west on SR488 for about 4 miles. Turn right heading northwest on Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive (FS446) about 8 miles to the end.

Overall, Wheeler Peak Trail is the 15th most popular hiking trail of all 20 hikes in Nevada.
