Hiking The Ophir Creek Trail

South of Reno, the Ophir Creek Trail is a 12 mile round trip trek along the Washoe Valley side of the Carson Range. The hiking route follow Ophir Creek to the Mount Rose Highway from 5,300 feet to 8,600.

The trailhead is located 20 miles south of Reno via US395 to SR429.

Overall, Ophir Creek Trail is the 9th most popular hiking trail of all 20 hikes in Nevada. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Ophir Creek Trail including Thomas Creek, Prison Hill Recreation Area and Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park.
