East of Jacksonville and south of Ponte Vedra Beach, the Guana River State Park has a scenic 9 mile loop through salt marshes, pine flatwoods and open savannas.
To reach the hiking trailhead from Ponte Vedra Beach, head south on SR A1A to South Ponte Vedra Beach. The trail starts in the woods at the dam (its not obvious).
Overall, Loop Trail is the 26th most popular hiking trail of all 43 hikes in Florida. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Loop Trail including Tomoka State Park, Evans Loop Trail, St. Francis Trail and Little Talbot Island State Park.
