Hiking The Gorge Trail

Southeast of Buffalo and northeast of Portageville in Wyoming County, the Letchworth State Park has 70 miles of hiking trails with various uses including hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, horseback and snowmobile riding. The trails pass through lush forest along the Genessee River gorge and pass three major waterfalls. A 21.5 mile section of the Finger Lakes Trail passes through the park as well.
Overall, Gorge Trail is the 37th most popular hiking trail of all 49 hikes in New York. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Gorge Trail including Eastside Overland Trail, Erie Canal Trail and Bond Lake Park.
