Hiking The Eastside Overland Trail

Southwest of Buffalo and northwest of Cherry Creek in Chatauqua County, the Boutwell Hill Management Unit (a combination of two state forests) has the 8.5 mile long Eastside Overland Trail.

To reash the hiking trailhead from US90, use Exit 59 and head south on SR60 to Cassadaga. Turn left heading east on High Street. Turn right on Barnum Road. Turn left heading east on Cassadaga Road. Turn left on CR77 (Rood Road). Turn right on Ruttenbur Road. Park near intersection with Lewis Road.

Overall, Eastside Overland Trail is the 25th most popular hiking trail of all 49 hikes in New York. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Eastside Overland Trail including Erie Canal Trail, Bond Lake Park and Gorge Trail.
