Northwest of Newark and east of Newton in Morris County, the 3,200 acre Mahlon Dickerson Reservation has 20 miles of trails shared by hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders.

To reach the trailhead from US80, use Exit for Route 15 -NORTH. Proceed on Route 15 NORTH 5 Miles to Weldon Road Exit - Take Weldon Road and travel approximately 4 miles - EAST - the Reservation is on both sides of the road.

To reach the trailhead from US287, take exit for Interstate 80 WEST, follow until you reach exit for Route 15 NORTH - proceed as instructed above.

Overall, Mahlon Dickerson Reservation is the 25th most popular hiking trail of all 29 hikes in New Jersey.
