Northwest of Show Low and just southeast of Pinedale in the White Mountains, the Los Caballos Trail (#638) is a 14 mile loop. It is relatively flat except for a few short steep grades. The majority of the trail follows old logging roads as it winds along Joe Tank Ridge and through Bagnal Draw.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Show Low, travel west on SR260 for 1.8 miles. Turn left on FS136 and the trailhead is 0.6 miles ahead on the right.

Overall, Los Caballos Trail is the 42nd most popular hiking trail of all 49 hikes in Arizona. Several of the better hiking trails are nearby Los Caballos Trail including Buena Vista Trail, Blue Ridge Trail, Ghost Of The Coyote Trail, Juniper Ridge, Timber Mesa Trail and Los Burros Trail.
