Hiking The Laurentian Trail

The 20th most popular hiking trail in Minnesota.

Northeast of Virginia and Biwabik in the Superior National Forest, the 5.2 mile Laurentian Trail is a rolling backcountry hiking trail located near the Silver Trail in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area. The route flows through rich aspen and pine forests.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.

Overall, Laurentian Trail is the 20th most popular hiking trail of all 31 hikes in Minnesota.
