Hiking The Silver Trail

The 23rd most popular hiking trail in Minnesota.

Northeast of Virginia and Biwabik in the Superior National Forest, the 6.2 mile Silver Trail is a challenging backcountry hiking trail located in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area. The Silver Trail is used for Olympic cross-country ski qualifications in the winter.

To reach the hiking trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.

Overall, Silver Trail is the 23rd most popular hiking trail of all 31 hikes in Minnesota.
