Continue down FDR 430 until the Hinman Creek #1177 trailhead. After fording Hinman Creek, which may be deep, swift and strong, climb the bank and toward the left. At the crossing turn right, away from the private property fence. At the next trail junction, the water-lilied Hinman Lake is to the left, continue toward the right on the trail. Staying right at the next trail junction the trail continues and crosses Hinman Creek first, then follows Scott Run up into Diamond Park, the north end of the trail.
