Near Trout Lake, the Monte Carlo / Monte Cristo Loop is a 18 mile hiking loop starting from Buck Creek Trailhead #2. The trailhead is located 7 miles up Northwestern Lake Road off SR141. The hiking route combines #52 NW -> FS1840 NE -> FS80 NE -> FS71 E -> FS80 SW -> #53 S over Monte Cristo Peak to Monte Carlo Peak -> #52 S -> Trailhead. The singletracks pass through 7 foot diameter douglas firs.
