East of Pontotoc, the 2,500 acre Trace State Park has 35 miles of hiking trails. The Trace State Park hiking trails roll through hills and hollers, along ridges and creeks. The routes pass through hardwood forest and swamps. The trails are divided between 7.5 miles of gravel and 21.6 miles of dirt.

To reach the state park from Pontotoc, head east on SR6 for 10 miles.

Overall, Trace State Park is the 9th most popular hiking trail of all 10 hikes in Mississippi.
